The New York City Department for the Aging recently issued new mandates restricting the use of grants for online class offerings for older adults. These mandates are unworkable on many levels, and older adults who have been taking classes together for years are suddenly having their classes and social connections ripped out from under them. I am petitioning DFTA to remove these mandates asap so we can bring these important programs back to older adults, many of whom are homebound.
